Placing & Editing Property Listings

How do I get started? Return to Top
The first thing you must do is register. Click on 'Register' on the Home Page.

Complete and submit the registration form. You will be sent an email with instructions on how to activate your new account.

Upon successful verification, your account will be activated and you can place your first property listing.


How do I place a property listing? Return to Top
To place a property listing, log in, and click 'Add New Listing' (in the User Menu, on the left hand side of the page).

Follow the steps, filling in the required fields. Your property listing will be added when you have completed all the steps and have clicked ‘Finish’.


How do I edit my property listing? Return to Top
To edit a property listing, log in, and click ‘Listing Management' (in the User Menu, on the left hand side of the page).

You will be displayed with a list of all your property listings. Click on 'Edit Listing' for the listing you wish to edit. When you have completed your editing, click 'Update' at the bottom of the page.


How do I add a photo? Return to Top
To add a photo to your property listing, log in, and click ‘Listing Management' (in the User Menu, on the left hand side of the page).

Click on ‘Add Photo' for the listing you wish to add a photo to.

Once you have browsed for your photo, click 'Upload Picture'. Once all photos have been uploaded, click ‘Update’ at the bottom of the page.


How do I reactivate or deactivate my property listing? Return to Top
To reactivate or deactivate your property listing, log in, and click ‘Listing Management' (in the User Menu, on the left hand side of the page).

Click on 'Edit Listing' for the listing you wish to reactivate or deactivate.

In the 'Published' drop down menu, choose 'yes' to reactivate or 'no' to deactivate your property. Click 'Update' at the bottom of page to update your listing.


How do I refresh my listing to the top of search results? Return to Top
You are able to refresh your ad once per day to the top of search results for your particular city/town or college. To refresh your property listing, log in, and click ‘Listing Management' (in the User Menu, on the left hand side of the page).

Click 'Refresh' for the listing you wish to refresh.

Please note that premium listings are always listed above standard listings.


How do I remove my property listing from the site? Return to Top
To remove your property listing from the site, log in, and click ‘Listing Management' (in the User Menu, on the left hand side of the page).

Click 'Delete Listing' for the listing you wish to remove.


How do I upgrade to a premium listing? Return to Top
To upgrade an existing listing to a premium listing, log in, and click ‘Listing Management' (in the User Menu, on the left hand side of the page).

Click 'Upgrade Listing' for the listing you wish to upgrade. Choose the desired upgrade and follow instructions to enter payment details.

For new listings, you can choose a premium listing when creating your advert.

A standard ad on CollegeCribs.ie is free.

A premium listing is charged at €19 per month.


How long does my ad stay listed? Return to Top
Listings will last as long as you like, you are able to reactivate or deactivate the listing at any time. Premium listings are charged per month - you can renew your upgrade as many times as you wish.


What are premium listings? Return to Top
Premium listings are an enhanced property advert. They are prominently located on the CollegeCribs.ie Home Page and Search Pages and are also located at the top of Search Results for specific universities, cities and towns. A premium listing puts your property in the spot light and provides a greater exposure and promotion of your listing; assuring an increased interest and attraction in your advert.


How do I contact the landlord/letting agent? Return to Top
Landlords/letting agents can be contacted by email directly through CollegeCribs.ie by clicking 'Email Landlord' on the property description page or by using the landlord/letting agents contact details at the bottom of the property description page.


What are the different property types? Return to Top
There are a number of different property types listed on CollegeCribs.ie:

Apartment – An apartment, or flat, is a self-contained housing unit that occupies only part of a building. The apartment may be privately owned or be part of a ‘Section 50’ building complex (purpose-built, tax-designated student accommodation complexes).

Bedsit – A bedsit, or bedsitting room, consists of a single room and shared bathroom.

Digs – A digs, or lodgings, is accommodation provided by a person in their own home. Breakfast and other meals are typically provided.

House – A house is a building typically owned by a private landlord.

Studio – A studio is an apartment with a living space, a bathroom and a small kitchen.
